Plant parts and pollination

A walk with friends and a lesson about the parts of the plant inspired us to do more work, the girls disected plants to look for various parts, stamens, style, ovule etc. Mima chose to measure the stamens and style on the tulip, they were both 2cm.
They then drew a cross diagram of the tulip and labelled the parts. On the internet we found some interactive KS2 science activities about pollination and parts of a plant.
Later in the day, we did a comprehension type quiz to assess what the girls had learnt.
